Presentation Script
- Be dressed formally and appropriately
- Wait until judges have finished grading the rubric of the person before me
- Enter room
- Introduce myself to judges as Dru Thompson
- Shake hands with judges
- Write my website on the board and ask them to take a few minutes to look at it
- Show them how to download my game and ask them to keep it on their screen as I present
- Start slide show, tell them why I chose game design as my topic
- Tell them the outline of my presentation and what I will be essentially talking about
- Tell them the four topics I talked about in my research paper and a little about them
- Read my thesis of my paper
- Read them the interesting facts I found and elaborate on why I found them interesting
- Tell them how I spent the 15 hours on my project and what exactly I did
- Show them the pictures I have and elaborate on what I’m doing in each picture
- Show them the video I recorded of my screen as I was working in gamemaker and tell them how and what I’m doing in the video along with explaining the nature of the code
- Ask them to now play my game they have up on their screen for about a minute, explaining the nature of the game and giving a brief explanation on how to play it and why I made it this way
- Talk about knowledge gained and how it will be vital to me in my future endeavors
- Talk about some of the successes I had elaborating on each bullet on why I feel like this is a success and how I will apply the knowledge I learned in the future
- Talk in depth about the challenged I had so the judges understand how much effort I put into my project, talk about why they were challenges and how I was able to overcome them if I did at all
- Tell them about my mentor reflection giving a brief bio on my mentor and why he was qualified to be my mentor for game design
- Talk about how my mentor helped me and what exactly we did together, tell them how easy it was to meet with my mentor and any challenged if I had any
- Conclude my project and talk about how I will work with game design in the future and what I plan on doing in college
- Show the end slide of my presentation and ask the judges if they have any questions
- Answer the questions to the best of my ability
- Thank the judges for their time and shake their hands as I exit
- FINISHED!
